Mars One

Mars one is a private non profitable company based in the netherlands. It was founded by Bas Landsdorp and Arno Wielders. Mars one has proposed to land the first humans on mars and establish a human colony there by 2027. The project costs around 6 billion US dollars. Over 100 countries have donated and helped Mars one on their project. By 2035, there will be 20 people on mars. It is estimated that it will take around 22 minutes for an email to go from Mars to Earth. Bas Landsdorp announced the project on may 2012. The Mars one concept was announced on December 2013.
